Biodiversity

Everything we do is fundamentally about promoting life, both individually and as a whole. This means that all work and all projects at Friskeröd and Surtung ultimately result in the importance of promoting biological diversity. In-depth texts about biological diversity are in the creative process together with other species such as trees, plants, animals, rocks and not least insects.

On the topic of biodiversity, the horses have come up with a practical proposal for humans to practice, which will begin in the spring of 2025, Grazing day. During the grazing day, we go out with a herd of horses, for example to the open fields on the mountain at Surtung. During this day we follow the horses' natural grazing, without the restriction of fences. We learn more about the relationship between plants and grazing animals, how trampling affects microbes and waterways, and other things we have no idea about yet!

We take lunch bags out with us, and spend the day hiking, quiet and exciting conversations. This is not a course, you register interest to Emelie at ecajsdotter@yahoo.com cost voluntary donation to Friends of Mio/Höfadder. No previous knowledge is required, no horse experience is needed. Choose when it suits you to participate.

Dates: April 18 (Maundy Thursday), May 16, June 6, July 12, August 17, September 19, October 17, November 14.
